I’m a fairly reflective person and probably more so around this time of year when Christmas is a fading memory and the New Year is underway… for me 2013 was a busy time and whilst I wanted to finish the sequel to Compromise the truth is that I’m still working on it, but it will definitely be published soon…

When I look back on 2013 there was a single event which disturbed me greatly, the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in London during May… a soldier who had served his country and was robbed of his future by the worst elements of society…

This appalling tragedy was a sad reminder that our country is far from secure against those extremists who wish it harm… for me this terrible event reminded me to treasure the things in life which I sometimes take for granted like family, friendships… it reminded me that we never know what awaits us in life and life needs to be embraced and lived…

As I reflect over the last year I look forward to the next with optimism and I wish my readers all the best for 2014.
